Drone photography for book covers

I’ve wanted, for a very very very long time, to get a drone to take some photographs for book covers. These ideas have been rolling about my head for years. When DJI finally released a drone with a decent camera (no offence to the older models) I was really excited but I held back from getting one.

Because they are pricey. And I had NO idea if it would pay off.

The pandemic set in and thankfully one of our friends said we could borrow his drone for a couple of weeks. My partner got his licenses etc and we set about putting my ideas in motion. I have to say we had some of the worst weeks of weather during this so we didn’t get to do as much as we’d hoped but it settled a decision about getting one or not!

We borrowed the Mavic pro 2 from DJI and now can’t wait to get one of our own. I’ve actually had a few of these shots reserved as book covers already so if they get bought for sure then that’s the money we’ll use to get one.
